About Seismic Swift AI
We build the AI platform that energy companies trust to interpret seismic data, monitor carbon storage, and make subsurface decisions at machine speed — with the audit trail and compliance architecture that institutions require.
Our Mission
Build the institutional-grade platform that makes subsurface intelligence accessible, auditable, and fast.
The subsurface holds the answers to the energy transition — where to store carbon, where to develop geothermal, where to produce responsibly. The interpretation technology that unlocks those answers has not changed fundamentally in thirty years. We are changing it.
Founded in Houston, built for the energy transition
Seismic Swift AI was founded in 2023 by Dr. Sarah Chen and Marcus Andersen in Houston, Texas — the center of gravity for global energy operations. Sarah had spent her career at a top-3 oilfield services company watching geophysicists drown in manual workflows while the industry faced its most important decade. Marcus had spent nine years building distributed infrastructure at Microsoft Azure at a scale and reliability standard the energy industry had never seen applied to seismic processing.
The founding thesis was precise: the energy transition requires faster, cheaper, and more auditable subsurface decisions. Manual seismic interpretation cannot meet that demand. Neither can black-box AI. What was missing was an institutional-grade platform that combined state-of-the-art machine learning with the compliance architecture, audit controls, and data sovereignty guarantees that enterprise energy operators require.
The team grew by recruiting geophysicists who had personally felt the pain they were solving. The VP of Geoscience is a former Chief Geophysicist at a leading North Sea operator. The VP of Machine Learning published his doctoral thesis on the graph convolutional network architecture that runs inside our autotracking engine. The VP of Engineering built payment infrastructure at a top-5 fintech unicorn. Every person on the team joined because they believed this problem was genuinely important.
Today we operate across multiple regions, serve operators from the Norwegian Continental Shelf to the Gulf of Mexico to the Santos Basin, and maintain the engineering discipline — 20,000+ automated tests, 500+ runtime contract assertions, SOC 2 Type II — of a company that knows its customers cannot afford to get the subsurface wrong.
Four principles we do not compromise
Every line of code, every model we ship, and every customer engagement is guided by the same four principles.
Scientific Rigor
Every model is benchmarked against cited baselines. Every algorithm carries a DOI reference. 80+ peer-reviewed citations inform our codebase, and every release is guarded by 500+ Design-by-Contract assertions that enforce scientific invariants at runtime.
Institutional Trust
SOC 2 Type II controls are baked into the architecture — not bolted on after the fact. Every write is audit-logged with a SHA-256 integrity chain. Tenant isolation enforces data boundary compliance across all operations. We treat security as a first-class engineering discipline.
Operational Excellence
A 99.97% actual uptime record is not an aspiration — it is a trailing 12-month measured fact. 20,000+ automated tests guard every release. Our streaming volume processing handles 50 GB surveys with under 8 GB peak memory. We hold ourselves to the reliability bar of financial infrastructure.
Zero Lock-In
Your data exports in SEG-Y, LAS 3.0, GeoTIFF, and PDF. Our metadata is OSDU R4-conformant. We do not hold seismic data hostage. Customers own their models, their interpretations, and their audit history — and can take all of it with them at any time.
Engineering quality is not negotiable
We publish these numbers because we believe our customers deserve to know what runs under their data.

Company timeline
From three engineers with a thesis to a venture-backed company operating across four continents.
Founded in Houston, TX by Dr. Sarah Chen and Marcus Andersen. Venture-backed by leading energy and deep-tech investors. Three engineers, one conviction: subsurface interpretation should be fast, auditable, and accessible to every operator — not just supermajors.
First working prototype: 3D U-Net denoising on Azure AKS, with automated HITL review and SEG-Y export. 200 automated tests from day one. The team believed test coverage was a scientific responsibility, not a process overhead.
Series A backed by leading energy-focused and deep-tech venture firms. The 11-service event-driven platform architecture launched — orchestrator, governance, ingestion, HITL review, denoising, autotracking, anomaly detection, and export. Team expanded rapidly across Houston and beyond.
SOC 2 Type II certification achieved. First three enterprise customers onboarded — a North Sea E&P, a Gulf Coast CCS operator, and a geothermal developer. The audit chain and data residency architecture proved decisive in each procurement.
CCS monitoring suite launched: Gassmann fluid substitution, Monte Carlo uncertainty quantification, and automated EPA Class VI compliance reporting. OSDU R4 integration complete. 15,000+ tests across the platform.
Series B led by leading energy-focused and deep-tech venture firms. Team reached 45 across Houston and international offices. Foundation model research program launched. Operations active across North America, Europe, and South America.
20,000+ tests. 847 surveys processed. 12,000+ pipeline jobs completed. 99.97% actual uptime across multiple regions. Building the foundation model strategy for zero-shot seismic interpretation. The mission remains unchanged.
